PV members took a break from their busy holiday schedule and joined in for an informal gathering to celebrate the holidays while enjoying the classical guitar of Patricio Acevedo. Light appetizers, sparkling water, coffee and tea were provided and friends brought a bottle of wine or their favorite holiday beverage to share. Ugly sweaters were encouraged to provide additional entertainment for the Penn's Village friends new and old!

Patricio Acevedo holds a degree in music theory and analysis from the University of Chile. He studied classical guitar at the Santiago Music Academy in Chile and conducting with Genaro Burgos. He has been living in the US since 1991 where he has been a full time music teacher. In Philadelphia, Patricio studied with Martin Knoblauch and acted as his assistant conductor for the Chestnut Hill Community Orchestra. Currently he teaches at the Creative Arts High School in Camden where he formed a student-led Brazilian ensemble, the first string orchestra in Camden, and the first symphonic orchestra in the school district in more than 30 years. He is a founding member of such ensembles as the Chilean group Páramo (Latin American songs), Alô Brasil (Brazilian traditional music) and Pagode Project (Brazilian fusion), as well as the “Notsolatin Concert Series." Patricio just finished his first solo album.
