So many of us love to travel, but travel planning can be stressful. There are so many things to think about when making decisions. Do I want to go on my own, or on a tour?  How do I put together a trip that is enjoyable, affordable, and memorable?  And, most important for many of us, how do I know where to go to eat?  Come hear from Aliza Green, chef, cookbook author, and most recently, leader of international culinary-cultural tours.  She will share the story of her fascinating life in Philadelphia’s food scene, and then her transition to culinary tour guide.  She will walk us through the makings of a good tour, including the best activities for culture, history and food lovers, and share travel tips that she has learned along the way.

Aliza Green is a Philadelphia-based pioneering chef and culinary tour leader and the author of fifteen books including Making Artisan Pastaa Cooking Light Top 100 Cookbook of the Last 25 Years. As a pioneer woman chef who helped make the city of Philadelphia a dining destination, Green’s career took off in the 1980’s as Executive Chef at Ristorante DiLullo, where her achievements landed her a prestigious four-star rating. In 1988, The Philadelphia Inquirer inducted Chef Green into its Culinary Hall of Fame, citing her as one of the ten most influential people in the city’s food industry for her uncompromising efforts in working with local farmers at DiLullo, Apropos Bistro and the White Dog Café.  She co-founded Celestial Voyagers in 1993, delivering unique, tailor-made trips worldwide.
