What's It Take to Share Philly’s Streets Safely? (V)

Whether you walk, bike or drive in Philadelphia, chances are you’ve seen some scary sights and close calls on our streets. Founded in 1972, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia (BCGP) partners with community and governmental actors in order to make streets safer and to advocate for a greener Philly. It promotes healthy living and healthy transportation. Our speakers will address environmental modifications, personal behavior, and policies in process to promote safe road sharing in Philadelphia.

Nicole Brunet is Director of the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia (BCGP). As an advocate, Nicole believes in making the political process more accessible for all, be that in city public hearings, the voting booth, or when requesting basic city services. She worked for five years with the nonprofit PennEnvironment and the Fund for the Public Interest and has a degree in Communications, Legal Studies, Economics, and Government from American University in Washington, DC.

Lor Song is Education Programs Manager for the BCGP. Lor is first generation of his Hmong family and is a Teaching Artist for The Pictures and Words program at The Barnes Foundation. He advocates and educates local communities about cycling safety, sustainability and a healthier lifestyle.
