Australia
A place where foxes fly, kangaroos live in trees, and mammals lay eggs…..a place that is home to one of the deadliest birds on Earth
Please join host
John Whitenight
, artist, collector, adventurer and author of Under Glass - A Victorian Obsession, as he leads us on a journey far from the museum-like quality of his beautiful home collection in Center City, and takes us on a lively, informative and entertaining photo tour exploration of his travels in Australia.
The tour begins in Sydney, with its Victorian architecture, Opera House, and the incredible Royal Botanical Garden, which opened in 1816. We then fly west over the virtually uninhabitable outback to Ayers Rock, one of the most sacred places to the aboriginal people.
After reconnecting with our spiritual selves, we head northeast to the lush tropical region of Queensland, where we experience some of the most diverse flora and fauna on earth. While there we will also pay a visit to the Great Barrier Reef, a World Heritage site over 2,300 km long that comprises thousands of reefs and hundreds of islands made of over 600 types of hard and soft coral. We then return to Sydney, completing this huge ecotour of eastern Australia.
So put your shrimp on the barbie, put some extra Vegemite on your toast, tie your kangaroo down, keep your cockatoo cool and tell your favorite mate to join us!
