Lunch and Books: On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder -- CANCELED
Live from our own kitchens, please join us for the next Lunch & Books featuring a discussion of the 128-page
On Tyranny, Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century
.
The #1 New York Times bestseller has been described as a “call to arms and a guide to resistance, with invaluable ideas for how we can preserve our freedoms in the uncertain years to come.” While the Founding Fathers tried to protect us from the threat they knew, the tyranny that overcame ancient democracy, our political order faces new threats, not unlike the totalitarianism of the twentieth century.
Timothy David Snyder is an American author and historian specializing in the history of Central and Eastern Europe, and the Holocaust. He is the Richard C. Levin Professor of History at Yale University and a Permanent Fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna.
The New York Times
called him “a rising public intellectual unafraid to make bold connections between past and present.”
