May is Better Hearing and Speech month, and to recognize this important topic, our program will cover the fundamentals as well as new developments in audiology.

The presentation addressed the following questions: What does an audiologist do? How can we know if we are losing hearing? Why is having good hearing important? What can we do about losing our hearing? What are the best ways to help others realize and act upon their diminished hearing? And what are good ways to listen to a person whose speech in not clear?

Ms. Costlow holds a B.S. (summa cum laude) in Speech Pathology & Audiology from Towson University, and a Doctor of Audiology from University of Maryland. She is the Coordinator of Audiology Outreach & Communications at Jefferson at the Navy Yard. She has also been Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology since 2017. Her expertise in audiology extends from hearing aids and pediatric issues to clinical research and rehabilitation.
