We gathered for a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month by learning about the history, production and impact of chocolate on our culture.

Taking place in the Italian Market neighborhood around the Chocolate Galeria Arts and Crafts store, there was a demonstration of the grinding of cacao, with a Mariachi singer, a troupe of Mexican dancers performed an Aztec ceremony, and a recorded lecture by a distinguished anthropologist from Yale on the pre-Colombian origins of this special product of the Americas.
