Anthony J. Buividas served as an executive for leading health insurers, a teaching hospital and consulting firm. He was Interim CEO of LIFE-UPenn, an integrated health plan and services provider, which assisted older adults with complex conditions to age in place.
Veronica Cassells is an entrepreneur in elder care. She was born in Mandeville, Jamaica and migrated to the United States at the age of 23 where she graduated from Presbyterian Nursing School. She works as a long-term senior caregiver. She is an active member of Tenth Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia and volunteers for Penn’s Village. She is a member of the Inclusion and Diversity Committee.
Kristin Davidson, until 2007, was at the University of Pennsylvania as Director of Administrative Affairs for the College of Arts and Sciences and as Assistant Dean for Administration of the Penn School of Nursing. She is a member of the board of directors of the Academy of Vocal Arts and Board Chair of the Freire Charter Schools Foundation.
Dr. Lois Evans, PhD, FAAN is Professor Emerita of Nursing, University of Pennsylvania, where she made major teaching, research, and practice contributions in gerontologic nursing, mental health, and long term care for older people.
Mary Ann Forciea MD MACP joined the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1983 and was one of the founding members of the Division of Geriatric Medicine. Her practice career was centered on primary care in Geriatrics, both in the office and in the home. Dr. Forciea has been an active member of the American College of Physicians, served as a member of the Clinical Guidelines Committee for ten years, and as a member of the Scientific Medical Policy Committee.
Tania Giovannetti is a professor of psychology and neuroscience at Temple University. She has specific expertise in the breakdown of everyday functioning in older adults with neurodegenerative cognitive disorders, including vascular cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's Disease. A resident of central Philadelphia, she is also working on intergenerational mentoring programs that promote interaction and education between older adults and Temple Students.
David Lewis has been a very active Penn’s Village volunteer for more than a decade. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, David founded and was CEO of DALewis Associates, a direct marketing service organization and was CEO of CPC Associates, a database analysis company. In addition to Penn’s Village, he volunteers for Hope Hospice and is involved with non-profit organizations in both Florida and Pennsylvania that focus on educational opportunities for first generation students and early childhood education.
Karen Lynch is a retired certified public accountant. She has over 30 years of corporate financial experience. Prior to her retirement in 2005, she was Vice President of Expense Administration for Cigna Corporation, where she held various financial management positions for 25 years.
Michele Mathes, JD is the Development Director at the Center for Advocacy for the Rights and Interests of the Elderly (CARIE). She serves as adjunct faculty at Drexel University’s Kline School of Law and its College of Medicine.
Anna T. Meadows, MD is a pediatric oncologist who led the way for survivorship studies of children with cancer during her 40 year career at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Anna was attracted to Penn's Village because of Health Pals, our service that helps members navigate the health care system.
Wanda Mitchell, MSW is currently the Director of Community Engagement for the Philadelphia Corporation on Aging (PCA), leading programs at the Meal Distribution Center and PCA's two senior centers, the Southwest Senior Center and Firehouse Active Adult Center. She has worked for PCA in various positions for 23 years, gaining knowledge and experience in every facet of the organization, while staying sensitive to the needs of all the older adults, volunteers, and professionals with whom she interacts.
Mindy Mozenter is an associate with Senior Living Specialists, assisting families to make informed decisions in moving themselves or a loved one. She has been in Senior services for the last 15 years and has a deep understanding of required support systems for individuals and families.
Mark Raymond is a retired physical therapist with a bachelor and master’s degree in physical therapy from Temple University. He was a clinical physical therapist in the home care division of The University of Pennsylvania Health System. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Temple University’s College of Public Health Alumni Association.
Ted Robb chairs the North County Conservancy, a not for profit developer of affordable housing and formerly was the Pennsylvania Secretary of Labor & Industry and Regional Director of the U.S Department of Housing & Urban Development.
Avalie Saperstein, MSW Her 40 year career in aging is characterized by expertise in program development, administration, organizational change, research and evaluation. She is the former Executive Director of Philadelphia Geriatric Center (now the Abramson Center for Jewish Life.
Brandon Stiff is Associate Director of Engineering for Merck & Co. Treasurer of the Philadelphia Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers and a Six Sigma Black Belt, Brandon joined the Board of Directors to explore his interest in serving older adults.
Brian Wengenroth - Board Chair is a retired Partner in Booz Allen's Worldwide Commercial Business. He has 30 years of consulting experience helping clients develop strategies for and execute business and technology transformation programs. He was a Director and Treasurer of the Society Hill Civic Association. He served on the Board of Elections and also served as Chairman of the Washington Square Townhouse Council and on the Board of the Delaware Valley Legacy Foundation.
