Protect, Detect, Report! Avoiding Medicare Fraud and Other Scams

Join us for a brief introduction to the work of the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) program, which provides education and advocacy for seniors & caregivers to prevent fraud. 

This will be followed by a presentation on Medicare fraud and scams in general, touching on Social Security, COVID-19 and contact tracing, and best practices for protecting, detecting, and reporting fraud, errors, and abuse. 

Real-life regional fraud cases will be used as concrete examples, and attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the program.

Dan Milloy, MHA, is Volunteer Coordinator of the Senior Medicare Patrol-PA, which is in the Center for Advocacy for the Rights and Interests of the Elderly (CARIE www.carie.org ).

Dan Lewis has been an SMP volunteer speaker for the four years since his retirement. His career included handling and stopping fraud and scam cases in food stamps as a welfare worker in Florida for 11 years; and as a skip tracer for a major credit card company.
