Wild plants and animals in cities propagate amidst traffic, people, lighting, noise and concrete. This talk will explore how they overcome seemingly insurmountable barriers to find mates and produce offspring.
Bio of presenter: Ken Frank, a member of Penn's Village, has a life-long interest in natural history. His scientific research and books have illuminated the ecology of wild plants and animals in Philadelphia. He practiced internal medicine in the city for several decades.

Tech Café is a welcoming space where Penn's Village members can receive free, one-on-one support with everyday technology questions. At each Tech Café, you'll be paired with a local student volunteer who can help you navigate your device, troubleshoot problems, learn new skills, and build confidence. Our volunteers are patient, enthusiastic, and excited to share what they know. While registration is full and closed for this event, look for another Tech Cafe in the future.

One of the wonderful things about retirement is having the opportunity to share the skills you've built over a lifetime. We recently heard from a local nonprofit looking for experienced volunteers with backgrounds in grant writing and fundraising.
Open Door Abuse Awareness and Prevention Program (ODAAP) is seeking retired professionals to help strengthen its mission of building safer communities and developing resilient, confident young leaders through trauma-informed programming and mentoring.
