Since 1989, LCD has worked to remove legal barriers that threaten health, safety, independence, and quality of life. Through direct representation, community education, and innovative medical-legal partnerships, LCD assists clients with critical issues such as housing, public benefits, family law, advance planning, and protection from abuse. Come learn about the mission of LCD and explore opportunities to engage.
Bio of presenter: Ellen Shimberg has over 25 years’ experience working in the non-profit space. Her most recent work was in the Middle East where she worked on health care initiatives promoting cross border cooperation between Palestinians and Israelis.

He brings 14 years of experience working with high-net-worth families and a deep passion for supporting those going through life transitions. His goal is to help people get confident about their money, so they can protect what they’ve built, make the most of their time and ensure their legacy matches their values.

In 2026, America turns 250 and Philadelphia is gearing up for the ultimate year-long celebration. Philadelphia Historic District Partners have launched 52 Weeks of Firsts, a citywide series highlighting the inventions, institutions, and traditions that started right here. Each week features a brand-new Saturday Festival, bringing live performances, pop-up experiences, family-friendly activities, and unmistakable Philly flavor to neighborhoods across the city. | | Living with Parkinson's?
The Tango Therapy Project will begin a 10‑week, tuition‑free series on Wednesdays, February 4 to April 8, 10:30 am to noon at First Presbyterian Church, 201 S 21st St. A walking dance, Tango supports balance, mobility, and quality of life for people with Parkinson’s and others. They are also offering a Volunteer Training on Saturday, January 24, from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm at the same location for those interested in learning how dance with people with Parkinson’s in their tango classes.
