Saving Claire” is an inspiring film that highlights the importance of fall risk reduction through real life stories and practical strategies that support healthy aging. Through Claire’s journey, viewers will learn ways to maintain safety, independence, and brain health as they age.


Following the film, Dawn Heiderscheidt, OTR/L, CAPS, ECHM, founder of Aurora Independence, will lead a discussion and interactive activities to help participants better understand their own potential fall risks. She will also share practical strategies to reduce or prevent falls and support safe, independent living.

Bio of presenter:  Dawn Heiderscheidt, OTR/L, CAPS, ECHM an occupational therapist with over a decade of experience helping older adults and individuals with disabilities live safely and independently in their homes. She is the founder of Aurora Independence, a consulting company that specializes in home safety assessments, aging-in-place planning, and accessibility solutions. Her work often bridges healthcare and the built environment, translating functional needs into design solutions that allow people to remain safely in their homes and communities.
