In Our Community

Below is information about upcoming events taking place in the community that might be of interest to Penn's Village members.

Celebrate Elfreth’s Alley Day: A Neighborhood Fete!

On Saturday, June 7, from 1–5 p.m., the Elfreth’s Alley Association will hold its annual neighborhood celebration, Elfreth's Alley Day: A Neighborhood Fete.

This event, which dates back to 1934, is when residents of Elfreth’s Alley open their doors to allow visitors a glimpse of 21st century life in these 18th- and 19th-century houses.

This year musical groups, reenactors, historians, vendors, and artisan crafters will share their passion of the Alley with guests.

This event is a fundraiser for the Elfreth's Alley Association, which works to preserve this historic street and tell the stories of this place through the Elfreth's Alley Museum.  Purchase tickets here

Blood Drive at Old Pine Community Center

Old Pine Community Center (401 Lombard Street) is hosting a blood drive with the American Red Cross on Monday, June 9, from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. and every drop counts!

To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: Old Pine Community.

Gardens of Society Hill Tour

Enjoy a self-guided walking tour of approximately 18 private gardens nestled in Society Hill. Discover lush urban oases and take home new ideas for your own outdoor space. This event runs Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8, from 1–4 p.m. and is the Society Hill Civic Association’s only annual fundraiser, with all proceeds supporting neighborhood beautification and improvement efforts.

Purchase tickets here, and you can find more details below in the flyer.
