Join us for an enlightening and informative afternoon! Dr. Peter Schoenbach will lead a visual presentation about the musical relations between the United States and Latin America, with particular emphasis on Mexican and North American composers and the impact of Brazilian Bossa Nova.
 
Peter J. Schoenbach, PhD is a retired professor of Latin American Languages, Literature, and Music. He has published, lectured, and serves as a Fulbright Scholar in Brazil. He speaks Spanish and Portuguese, has lived abroad in Brazil, Spain and Portugal. In addition, he continues as a performer on the bassoon, having played with several orchestras and currently with the Philadelphia Wind Symphony.

LOCATION

 
This program will be held in the MacColl Room of the First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, 201 South 21st Street, on the southeast corner of Walnut. The entrance is on the side of the building off of 21st Street. There is an accessible entrance behind the building off of Chancellor St.

This program is free of charge to our members and volunteer partners.  Non-member guests are welcome to attend up to three programs before being required to join and/or volunteer with Penn’s Village, or pay $10 per additional program.
