Penn's Village to be Featured on "You Oughta Know" on WHYY-TV!

On Friday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m., WHYY-TV's "You Oughta Know" will feature a segment on Penn's Village! Thanks to Penn's Village member Tina Breslow and the Marketing and Communications Committee, co-chaired by Kristin Davidson and Harriette Mishkin, a team from WHYY spent time over the summer talking with members about why Penn's Village is important to them, and the segment is finally ready to air!  There will be a "watch party" that evening starting at 7 p.m. at Little Pete's at The Philadelphian, 2401 Pennsylvania Ave. - feel free to join us there, or just tell your friends and watch at home!

ICYMI: Popular Inquirer Article on Penn's Village's Impact on Older Adults

You may remember this article from the Philadelphia Inquirer on Penn's Village and how we help our members "connect, engage and thrive."  This article remains relevant, and is used as an example of how cities are helping residents age in place.  You can read (or re-read) the article here: https://www.bluezones.com/2023/05/how-adults-can-age-in-place/.

Calling All Writers:  Jefferson Writing Contest Focuses on "Growing, Learning and Aging"

Are you a patient, caregiver, clinician, administrator, employee, faculty, student, community partner or neighbor of Jefferson who is interested in the topic of growing, learning and aging? These concepts fit into the continuum of experience, whether you are 25, 65, or 105.  Jefferson invites you to submit stories, poems, or essays for consideration. Everyone has a unique voice, and they want to hear from as many of you as possible.

The deadline for submission is December 31, 2024. Cash prizes will be awarded as follows: $2000 for first place, $1000 for second place, and $500 for third place.  All submissions to the Yeo Writing Prize also will be considered for publication in the next issue of Evanescent: A Journal of Literary Medicine.
