Furniture Making Demonstration
With Penn’s Village Member Paul Starita
Wednesday, July 17 at 2:00 p.m.
1901 Washington Ave.
(Studio entrance is just north at the corner of League and 19th)
Attendance is limited to 10 participants.
This is a follow-up to May’s tour of Paul Starita’s workshop, during which Paul discussed the equipment and the techniques used to make furniture. During this session, Paul will demonstrate the art of actual furniture making, while talking about how he goes about designing and creating new pieces and restoring old ones. It doesn’t matter if you attended the first session – all welcome to this one.
Paul Starita earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Management from New York Polytechnic, now part of NYU. After graduating, he worked for three years in Brazil, then as an Engineer and Technology Executive on Wall Street, and then to Canada, where he spent the bulk of his career in the financial and tech sectors. He and his wife, artist Carolyn Prue, moved to Philadelphia several years ago to be closer to family.
