SEPTA Senior ID Keycards to Expire in 2023
SEPTA is reminding SEPTA Key Senior ID Card holders that Key Card expirations are resuming in 2023.

In the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, SEPTA suspended SEPTA Key Senior ID Card expirations to ensure that senior customers could continue to travel at a time when COVID-19 related social distancing measures and staffing constraints limited our ability to process as many renewals as needed. The expiration deadline was extended in 2021, and a final time last year to allow SEPTA time to work with legislative offices to set up a new renewal process at district offices through the existing legislative weblink.

With each extension, SEPTA strongly encouraged cardholders to take advantage of the additional time to renew their card to avoid expiration and any service interruption. This year, Senior Key Cards with printed expiration dates of 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 will expire on the last day of the month printed on the card.

For example:
A card with a January 2020/2021/2022 or 2023 (1/20, 1/21, 1/22, 1/23) expiration date will expire on Jan. 31, 2023.
A card with a February 2020/2021/2022 or 2023 (2/20, 2/21, 2/22, 2/23) expiration date will expire on Feb. 28, 2023.
A card with a March 2020/2021/2022 or 2023 (3/20, 3/21, 3/22, 3/23) expiration date will expire on March 31, 2023.

This will continue throughout 2023. This does not impact cards expiring in 2024 and beyond. Those cards will expire as indicated on the card.

Seniors have two options to renew their Senior Key ID Cards:

1) Legislative District Offices – staff can take renewal applications in person using the updated legislative weblink. SEPTA processes the renewal and mails a new card directly to you in about 2-3 weeks. Reminder: Shortly after the renewal application is submitted via the legislative weblink, the current card will be deactivated while the new card is being processed and mailed out. This will create a short gap in service until you receive the renewed card.

2) SEPTA Headquarters – In person, same day card renewal at SEPTA Headquarters located at 1234 Market St., Philadelphia, PA 19107. Appointments* can be scheduled Monday – Friday 8 AM to 5 PM by calling 215-580-7145 (Press #6) or online at
https://go.oncehub.com/septacct.

* Appointments are strongly encouraged. Walk-in renewals are accepted but wait times may be lengthy depending on customer volume.
