Join The Inquirer Live for "A More Perfect Union"

On Tuesday, May 10 at 4:15 p.m., watch the latest edition of Inquirer LIVE’s “A More Perfect Union” series: "White Picket Fence." Moderated by Inquirer Deputy Editor, Ariella Cohen, the livestreamed event will delve into the complicated legacy of racial exclusion on the Main Line. The discussion will include this installment's writer, Zoe Greenberg, in conversation with longtime Main Line resident Roxanna Wright; and Andre M. Perry, a Brookings Metro scholar studying structural inequity.  You can participate in a Q&A directly following the talk. Register here: White Picket Fence.

A More Perfect Union is The Inquirer’s tentpole, year-long, multi-part and multi-platform project, exploring the origins and impacts of these All-American institutions — with an eye toward forward-looking solutions and ways in which we can truly form A More Perfect Union.  You can read more about the series here: Inquirer Feature.

Welcome New Business Member: Vivo

You want to get – or stay – fit now. Great! But how? And where? Knowing how to introduce or update a successful fitness strategy is complicated. And finding a place that’s welcoming and attentive to you is a challenge, particularly during the pandemic.

Vivo is the solution. We’re a virtual, live online personal fitness program created specifically for the Penn’s Village generation. We offer a wide range of interactive, small-group classes led by trainers expert in working with people 55+, offering realtime individual guidance and support. And we’re not one-size-fits-all: our class options are customizable so you can continually evolve your program as your abilities and goals do.

The centerpiece of Vivo is strength training, since maintaining muscle mass is the #1 factor for sustaining independence and quality of life. Our classes are built on science and emphasize endurance, balance and mobility. Members also have access to complementary live online body and mind workout classes, from chair yoga and cardio dance to mindfulness and cognition. Monthly membership includes initial and ongoing assessments of progress; on average, our community sees 22% improvement in upper body strength, 27% lower body strength, 25% endurance and 12% agility. With 98% of our members renewing monthly, we must be doing something right!

We already have a number of Penn’s Village members and we're offering you an exclusive 20% discount! We hope you’ll join the growing Team Vivo!
