Subject: Special Screening for Penn's Village Members: Duty Free
From: Penn's Village

You Are Invited!

Thanks to the generosity of Penn’s Village Board Member Mindy Mozenter and Senior Living Specialists Philly, Penn's Village members are invited to screen an inspiring documentary, Duty Free, this weekendIt’s a wonderful way to celebrate Older Americans Month.  And it is free to the Penn's Village community!

It's an inspiring documentary!  After a 75-year-old immigrant mother gets fired from her job, her son takes her on an adventure to help her reclaim her life.  As she struggles to find work, he documents a journey that uncovers the economic insecurity shaping not only her future, but that of an entire generation.  There are other elements in the film that warm and inspire: family connections and re-connections, single parenthood, raising bi-racial children, and coping with mental illness.

Through emotional and compelling storytelling,Duty Free aims to not only increase visibility of older folks, but to re-characterize this generation for who they really are: human, capable, productive, useful, beautiful and important.

Watch on your own time between Friday, May 21 at 11:00 am and Sunday, May 23 at 5:00 pm, and then join a live Q&A with the film's mother and son on Sunday at 6:30 pm.

Register below on Eventbrite and a link will be sent to you from Eventbrite this Friday.

We hope you will be able to join us!
