Tour of the Woodmere Museum
Join Penn's Village for a docent-guided tour of the celebrated Woodmere Art Museum.
Housed in a 19th-century stone mansion on six acres in Chestnut Hill, the Woodmere Art Museum is dedicated to the art and artists of Philadelphia.
The building and grounds, together with the core of the collection, are the gifts of Charles Knox Smith (1845–1916), who purchased the estate in 1898 with the intent of transforming it into a showcase for his great collection of art. Smith opened Woodmere’s doors to the public in 1910.
ACCESSIBILITY/COVID POLICY
Wheelchairs are available upon request. All galleries, with the exception of the Dorothy del Bueno balcony, are accessible. In accordance with CDC and City of Philadelphia guidelines, proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test is not required to enter the Museum and mask-wearing is optional.
LOCATION
There is free parking available for visitors. Accessible parking is available near the Widener Studio building, located to the right of the museum. The Woodmere can be reached by taking Regional Rail and SEPTA bus. Visit the SEPTA website or Google maps for details.
