Legislative Redistricting and Proposed Judicial Districting: Impacts and Causes for Concern

In our third and final session on redistricting, get up-to-date information regarding the ongoing struggles over U.S. Congressional and Pennsylvania General Assembly districts, which will affect the composition of the U.S. House of Representatives, PA Senate, and PA House of Representatives for the next ten years.

You will also learn about the proposed districting of PA’s appellate judiciary and the potential impact on state governance. In addition, Charlie Day will talk about opportunities for participation in these critical issues.

Charlie Day is a volunteer with Fair Districts PA. He has management experience with several non-profit and governmental organizations, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and Temple University. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a master’s from the University of Pennsylvania.

Fair Districts PA is a project of the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania, a nonpartisan political organization which encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Fair Districts PA receives no funding from political action committees (PACs) or political parties and is endorsed by a wide range of local and statewide organizations.
