Penn’s Village will join other villages across the country in celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the Village Movement, which began with the founding of Beacon Hill Village in Boston.The celebration will include a live broadcast from Boston featuring Dr. Atul Gawande speaking on “The Value of Community and Choices as We Grow Older.” The broadcast will begin promptly at 5 pm.To register, please email

Being Mortal has inspired many conversations about the end of life, but the stories in it are actually about life. In his book, Dr. Gawande included Beacon Hill Village and the Village model as an important option as we grow older.

The Bluemle Life Sciences Building is located at 233 South 10th Street Street and is handicapped accessible.
